How Minuted works

You keep answering your own phone. We take care of writing everything down. Here is the whole journey, from the number to the notes.

1

Get your number, or keep yours

Choose a new local landline number for your area in about a minute, or keep the number you already have and divert it to Minuted.

  • Search by town or area code and pick from real available numbers
  • Keeping your number takes about ten minutes and is fully reversible
  • Port your existing number over later with no downtime
2

Calls ring your mobile and you answer

Your number diverts to your mobile. Callers hear a short professional greeting, then you pick up and talk as you always have.

  • No new handset and no app to answer calls
  • Set your ring time, business hours and a one-tap holiday mode
  • Out of hours calls go to voicemail, which gets written up too
3

Every call is recorded, summarised and turned into todos

Moments after you hang up, the call comes back as a plain summary and a short list of actions, in your inbox and on your dashboard.

  • A clear summary of who called and what they need
  • Todos you can tick off, each linked back to the call
  • The full recording and transcript are there if you want them

What your callers hear

When someone rings, they hear a short professional greeting before it rings your mobile. It lasts a few seconds, tells them the call may be recorded and sounds like a well-run business.

The greeting is there for a reason. Recording business calls is fine in the UK as long as callers are told, and a clear line at the start keeps everything above board while adding a bit of polish.

The greeting

"Welcome to Elm Road Electrical. Calls are recorded so we can capture the details of your job."
Then it rings your mobile and you pick up as normal.

Keep your number

Already have a business number? Divert it in.

You don't have to change your number to start. Divert your existing landline to your new Minuted number and every call runs through us straight away.

Ten minutes

Set the divert on your current line and you're taking notes on every call.

Fully reversible

Changed your mind? Turn the divert off and you're back to how you were.

No downtime

Calls already route through us, so porting day changes nothing for your callers.

Port when ready

Move the number over properly whenever it suits, at no extra cost.

One honest note on cost. While your calls come in by divert, you carry on paying your current provider's divert charge, not us. Most business packages include it, so it's worth checking yours. When you're ready, port the number over and the divert, and its charge, simply falls away.
